Black Muslims Now is a New York City, faith-based nonprofit advancing Black Muslim visibility, community, advocacy, culture, education, and service.

To advance the visibility, unification, and empowerment of Black Muslims through advocacy, cultural programming, education, civic engagement, community service, and collective action.

Help Restore THE NOW
For five years, THE NOW connected more than 1,000 subscribers to Islamic events, education, cultural programs, civic information, and one another through a free SMS guide. Right now, it’s paused due to funding limitations.
It takes about $600 a month to keep THE NOW free and running. Sponsor a week, a month, or a year, and help us bring it back for the next five years.

Community Iftar
Breaking fast together, shoulder to shoulder. Our iftars are where strangers become family and every plate comes with a story.

Sack races, tug-of-war, giant Connect Four and a whole lot of laughter. Joy is part of the work, and the picnic proves it.

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother Screening
We filled an AMC theater in Manhattan to see ourselves on the big screen, then stayed for a conversation with the film’s director and star on faith, fatherhood, and honoring our mothers.

Outdoor Club Hike
Fresh air, fall leaves, and good company. Our Outdoor Club gets us moving and talking, one trail at a time.
